“A sound, consistent investment process giving clients a great opportunity for both long term growth and preservation of wealth.”

We start every relationship by developing a thorough understanding of a client’s goals, return objectives and risk tolerance. Once we have completed this analysis, together with our client, we determine an appropriate asset allocation and investment strategy. This information will be summarized into an investment policy statement which will be our guiding document going forward. This will be reviewed and updated on an ongoing basis.

At Medallion, the management of your assets will be handled by a dedicated, experienced team that will take extreme care to both grow and, just as importantly, preserve a client’s wealth and purchasing power. Our firm is independent, thus enabling our clients to benefit from the freedom we have in using some of the best research sources along with the ability to structure portfolios in a way that we feel is best for our clients.

We offer customizable client portfolios in which we are able to manage both taxes and low-cost securities.

Our equity investment process is built around one core theme; investing in high quality dividend paying stocks. We implement this in client portfolios through a variety of equity strategies: “Growth and Income” or “Equity Income”. In addition, if warranted, we will introduce into the portfolio international and small cap components that can be used with either one of the main strategies to further diversify a portfolio and allow for a better risk reward profile. Portfolios are carefully constructed dependent on prevailing market conditions and/or perceived risk/reward characteristic of particular economic sectors, industries and individual stocks. Portfolios are then monitored to make adjustments to our security positions.

Separately Managed Portfolios

When we formed Medallion Wealth Management Inc., our goal was to create a firm that allows our professionals to maximize time with clients and their investment portfolios. Tasks which are not related to this focus are outsourced to specialists in their respective fields.

We use the best independent research, technology and investment tools all selected to blend seamlessly with our unique process to help our Investment professionals exceed client expectations. While we begin with a disciplined top down framework, we also encourage creativity and flexibility by everyone in the firm. This builds community and originality across the organization. Our bottoms-up stock selection process allows Medallion’s team to extensively research and test ideas before they are considered for purchase. Portfolios can be customized to the client’s specific objectives and are carefully reviewed by the members of our Investment Committee. Portfolio risk and return are monitored and reviewed on a regular basis.

We start every relationship by developing a thorough understanding of a clients goals, income and return objectives and risk tolerance. Next, we determine an appropriate asset allocation and implementation strategy. This strategy is summarized in an “investment policy statement” which is reviewed and updated on a regular basis. We then decide on appropriate benchmarks and intervals to conduct formal performance reviews. We strive to earn a clients trust through open and regular communication.

After the proper allocation framework is established, we determine which equity strategy is appropriate for the foundation of the equity allocation. We build portfolios with high-quality mid and large cap stocks. Our equity income approach chooses companies with strong histories of growing their dividends and has a two percent minimum dividend yield. The core growth and income portfolios build off of a high quality foundation with an overall portfolio yield that remains competitive with major market benchmarks. Risk is controlled with strict weight limits on securities and sectors.

At Medallion, we believe “getting it right” with a client’s asset allocation is critical in setting return expectations and that tactical sector weight decisions are fundamental in maintaining competitive intermediate returns. Stock selection is a combination of strong fundamentals, reasonable valuations and market or product superiority.

Our investment team uses many advanced tools and techniques for risk management. To minimize unsystematic risk we limit exposure to any one security and sector. At least as important as buying the right stock, is having a strong sell discipline. Portfolios are carefully constructed dependent on prevailing market conditions and the risk/reward characteristics of each individual security.

At Medallion we recognize that companies with dominant brands and global franchises did not achieve that status by accident. With careful monitoring, great companies can form the core of a strong, long-term tax-efficient investment strategy. Building on the core with carefully selected opportunity stocks can provide a unique perspective to client holdings.
